MUNI PhD Career Days 2025
The fourth edition of the MUNI PhD Career Days recently concluded, marking another resounding success. The entire event unfolded in a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere, with everything running smoothly as planned, according to the organizers. The initiative proved to be an invaluable resource, connecting PhD candidates with experts and essential career guidance.
PhD Career Days have once again proven to be a crucial event in the academic calendar, garnering praise from both participants and organizers for their inspirational content and execution, which included workshops such as The Art of Storytelling and Funding Your Future: An Introduction to Grant Writing for PhD students. The organizers expressed their sincere thanks to all speakers and trainers who devoted their time and expertise. Their willingness to share their know-how, experience, and even personal stories was greatly appreciated, with organizers adding that, "Your openness and energy truly make PhD Career Days a remarkable event!".
Special thanks were also extended to the participating PhD students. Acknowledging their demanding schedules, the organizers highlighted the importance of their presence: "We know you have packed schedules, and that is why we appreciate you taking the time to join us. Your attendance is essential – it allows us to continue developing and improving activities such as these." Strong feedback from participants clearly attested to the event's impact, with the general sentiment being one of deep appreciation: "It was amazing, please continue what you are doing...", and participants specifically praised the execution, saying: "I applaud the event organizers for the great job with the organization and selection of lectures chosen for this year’s Career Days." A key recurring theme in the feedback stressed the benefit of attending early in one's PhD journey, recommending it for better planning and preparation: "It is important that other PhD students attend earlier than in their 4th/7th year of study to be well-prepared and plan their research better." One participant, nearing the end of their own studies, noted that the event offered activities, such as the workshop Master Your Career Journey: Design Your Career in Research, that positively impact PhD careers at "various stages, from early to middle to final moments," and offered a strong recommendation to future attendees: "I am at the end of my PhD and having had such activities at the beginning would have helped me navigate with more ease... I would recommend that faculties encourage more students to participate, especially those at the beginning, as it could effectively enhance their experience and help them gain some essential 'practical' skills."
The event has clearly established itself as an indispensable and highly valued part of the academic calendar, with the strong concluding wish being: "I wish for this initiative to grow and soon become a solid part of PhD careers!"
